Phoenix was rescued in the devastating 2020 Australian Bushfires. His carer Bronwyn allowed me to draw this portrait from a photo she took of him. After Bronwyn worked her magic and cared for Phoenix, he has now been released back into the wild and is hopefully living a wonderful life.

I created this piece while sitting at the local Botanical Gardens on a day our Plein Air painting with my Mum. I sketched roughly with the pen first and then filled in the details with my watercolours.
