ABOUT ME
I have been drawing ever since I was able to hold a pencil. Since graduating high school many moons ago, I have taken my art in a very different direction from the graphite pencil drawings that I used to create for my art majors. Nowadays I work primarily with watercolour and coloured pencils - softly mixing the two together to create simple and minimalistic artworks.
During the past year or so I have tried to create artworks as a means to help raise awareness for our natural world and how important it is to take care of our environment. I’ve done a lot of work focussing on the importance of our pollinators and endangered animals in particular this year and I would like to continue this theme in my coming years to help bring appreciation and attention to the animals that inhabit our world.
As I find creating a meditative practice it is also my hope that viewers lose themselves within each piece and escape their daily worries for a moment. Watercolour is such a free and expressive medium and you can find so many hidden details that naturally occur when used on paper.
